	Outside the Ngorongoro Crater begins the Serengeti. This is the Southern edge of Serengeti.
	This spot is completely dependent on seasonal rains. Here, when it doesn't rain the place turns into a virtual desert. Twice every year (short rains: November-January, long rains: March-June) the entire plain turn green, and the animals roam. Then the rains stop, the plain turns brown and the animals leave. This shot was taken in September, you probably guessed, dry season.
	Further North into Serengeti, the area is blessed with streams, lakes and watering holes. During dry season it is not "smorgasbord" for the lions and other predators, but you can still scrape by. But when the rains come, life returns with a bang, and it's "smorgasbord" for the lions!
