The Torre Pendente of Pisa started leaning while it was still being built.  The architect made a boo-boo of historical proportions: too shallow a foundation, instable, silty soil.

bullet

Unless something is done, the Leaning Tower of Pisa will become the Heap of Rubble of Pisa by year 2200.  Numerous attempts have been made to stabilize the tower.  Until recently, the best of these methods were the ones that had absolutely no effect.  Of course, there were also the "no-good" ideas that actually accelerated the rate of leaning (ouch!).

bullet

The methods used today:
bullet

The tower is anchored by steel cables (temporary fix)

bullet

The "high" side of the tower is weighed down by many tons of lead bars (not very effective)

bullet

Drilling equipment is used to  s s s l o o o o w l y  remove cores of soil from under the "high" side of the tower (it may work, we'll know in a few . . . decades)

bulletINSTANT DOWNLOADS:  when ordering be sure to click on all the prompts until you get to the download link.  After you click "Pay" you must click "Continue".  Otherwise the charge will go through but you will never receive a download link.
bulletThe posters and prints you order here are NOT the mass-produced, flimsy paper "dime-a-dozen" variety: every panoramic poster and print is printed "on demand" just for you, on photographic paper.  This ensures extreme high quality and a truly "limited" distribution.
bullet You may chose GLOSSY or MATTE surface paper.  If you do not specify otherwise, your order will be processed on GLOSSY paper.
bullet Escape: decorate your office or cubicle with a panoramic poster (or print) of a dream place.
bulletGift idea for your sweetheart (or treat yourself...):  A unique panoramic poster!
bulletThe Panoramic Posters and Panoramic Prints make exceptional gifts.  Please order well in advance of major Holidays.
bullet These posters are custom printed professionally and look absolutely stunning.  Exactly the same image presented on the Web site is printed (minus the copyright overlay).  Panoramic pictures present a view that is impossible to capture with "normal" cameras.  The very large panoramas present a view that is larger than the human normal field of view.  Because of technical reasons (due to panoramic processing and exceptionally large field of view), when examined under magnification, certain elements may appear distorted or imperfect.   Any such imperfections are not visible under normal viewing and will not interfere with the enjoinment of the beautiful panorama.
